TRANSCRIPT ORDERING

Transcripts are official records of students' coursework, grades, and degrees earned at Georgia College & State University.  Georgia College provides two options for transcript delivery:

  • Electronically-delivered transcripts are available for current students and for most former students and alumni. GCSU has authorized Parchment Exchange to act as its agent for all electronic-delivery requests.  There is a $3.25 processing charge for this service, plus any applicable sales tax for your state.  These transcripts are typically delivered to the recipient within minutes.
  • Printed, paper transcripts are available free of charge as a service to our students, former students, and alumni. Printed transcripts are official as long as the envelope has not been opened and the seal is intact. Paper transcripts will be mailed through first-class US mail or may be picked up in person at the Registrar's Office.  We do not fax, scan, or email copies of paper transcripts or send them through expedited mail service.

Ordering instructions for all transcript types are provided below.

Official, Electronically-Delivered Transcripts (Alumni and Former Students)

This option is only available to students who are currently enrolled or who attended Georgia College since Fall 1991.  You may attach separate documents to be sent along with the transcripts (ie. resumes, LCAS/AAMC forms) when completing your request.  Electronic transcripts are official transcripts and are usually delivered within a few minutes of ordering.

Other Transcript Information
  • While transfer work may be included on a student's transcript, GCSU does not release copies of transcripts from other institutions.  Those transcripts must be requested directly and are subject to the rules and regulations of that institution.
  • GCSU does not release partial transcripts.  If a student has an undergraduate record and a graduate record, those exist as one document and are not released separately.
  • Transcripts will not include grades or degrees awarded for a current semester until all grades for all students have been received and rolled to academic history.  This occurs three times per year, at the end of the Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters. Please see the Academic Calendar for specific dates.
  • As explained on the transcript key that accompanies official transcripts, the information listed is on a transcript is academic in nature. For example, disciplinary actions related to student conduct are not listed on the transcript.
  • If you are interested in obtaining a copy of a deceased ancestor's records from GCSU, please email the Registrar's Office (registrar@gcsu.edu) with as much information as you know about the former student, including, if possible, the name under which they were likely enrolled, date of birth their hometown, any information about their course of study (typically education or secretarial), and the approximate dates they attended.  Please also state your relationship to that individual.  If the individual was born after 1920, please also provide verification of their death (e.g., obituary, newspaper clipping, copy of death certificate, photo of tombstone). Depending on the dates the student attended, we often have copies of yearbook information, catalogs and class photographs, and other such artifacts in addition to the academic records collected at the time of enrollment.
